asked the Minister for Justice if he will state in respect of the latest year for which figures are available the number of notices for parking offences which have been cancelled on the grounds of diplomatic immunity; and the number of cancelled notices in respect of each country concerned.

The Garda authorities state that the total number of notices for parking offences cancelled in 1980 on the grounds of diplomatic immunity was 141. The number of cancelled notices in respect of the diplomatic mission of each country concerned was as follows:

Argentina, 7; Australia, 2; Canada, 3; Denmark, 3; Egypt, 2; France, 52; Great Britain, 17; Greece, 31; India, 3; Italy, 9; Japan, 2; Netherlands, 3; Poland, 2; Switzerland, 5.
