Clifden Marconi Estate turf-cutting rights
The Commissioners of Public Works acquired the Marconi estate and would consider new turf-cutting lettings for previous holders, but would not permit uncontrolled use.
asked the Minister for Finance if he recently acquired the Marconi Estate, Clifden, County Galway; and if he will ensure that local people continue their traditional right to cut turf on this estate.

The lands known as the Marconi estate, Clifden, were recently acquired by the Commissioners of Public Works. The commissioners could not allow uncontrolled use of the lands but they would be prepared to consider applications from people who previously had turf cutting lettings there and who wish to take out new lettings.
