(Dublin North-West) asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the plans that exist for the extension of an electronics company (details supplied) in Finglas, Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The project to which the Deputy refers was the subject of an announcement by me during my recent industrial promotion visit to the USA.

What is involved is a major expansion of the operations of the company in question. It is now envisaged that employment and activities at the Finglas factory will be increased on a phased basis each year between now and 1988 when employment is expected to be 1,500.
