asked the Minister for Defence the reason the Air Corps declined an invitation to attend the International Air Tattoo at Greenham Common, Berkshire, England, on 27, 28 June 1981; and if he will encourage the Air Corps to participate in such international events in the future.

It was not possible, for financial and operational reasons, to attend the Tattoo in question. Invitations to such events in the future will be considered in the light of the circumstances at the particular time.
