Thomas J. Fitzpatrick Minister for Fisheries and Forestry (Mr. Fitzpatrick, Fine Gael

Cavan-Monaghan): No permanent forest worker was laid off since 21 July 1981 but 27 temporary forest workers have ceased employment since that date. These workers were laid off in accordance with established practice when the work on which they were engaged had been completed.
