asked the Minister for Education when his Department will sanction the appointment of a remedial teacher for schools (details supplied) in County Westmeath.

The quota of extra remedial teaching posts for the current school year has already been allocated. The application of Cornamaddy and Tubberclare national schools for such a post will be assessed should a further quota of posts in this category become available.
