With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 709 and 710 together.

Proposals for a revision of the provision of Agreed Report 14/79 have been submitted to the Conciliation Council for Teachers and are still under consideration. I have had discussions with representatives of the Teachers' Union of Ireland and the Irish Vocational Education Association with a view to bringing about a satisfactory resolution of the present difficulties without avoidable delay.
