County Galway construction projects

Summary

Molloy sought details and 1982 funding for the Department’s County Galway construction projects. After the Minister said the figures would be circulated and confirmed they would stand, L’Estrange questioned whether additional spending would be disclosed; Power interjected about election promises.

Robert Molloy Mr. Molloy Fianna Fáil

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if he will give details of construction projects funded by his Department to be undertaken in County Galway during 1982; and if he will state in each case the amount provided in the 1982 estimates.

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement which I propose to circulate with the Official Report.

I am aware of that but I should like to know whether the Department will adhere to the figures that are given in the tabular statement, that there will be no increase announced during the next month or so when certain people are in the areas concerned?

Just as is the case in respect of the ringroad around Dublin, of the £45 million concession in respect of PRSI and of the nine new schools, we are not being told where the additional moneys are coming from.
