A number of environmental studies essential for the completion of the design and cost-benefit analysis of a drainage scheme for the Dunkellin catchment will be carried out over the next two years or so. At that stage the full report on the cost-benefit analysis can be compiled.

Workers for drainage maintanance are being recruited at present. In order to reduce the burden on local authorities, who must repay the cost of this service, there will be some curtailment of recruitment in most catchment areas.
