Department properties in Dublin
Quinn sought a list of Department-owned or leased properties and OPW-owned buildings it occupied, including any derelict properties and plans for them. The Minister identified the fully used Fisheries Research Centre at Abbotstown, said the Department was located in Merrion Street (owned by the Department of Lands), and mentioned a forthcoming move to Lesson Lane; Dukes argued the answer was incomplete. No information was given on derelict properties or plans to bring them into use.
asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if he will list the properties (i) owned or leased by his Department and (ii) occupied by his Department but owned by the Office of Public Works in Dublin County Borough at present; the properties which are considered to be derelict; and the action he proposes to take to bring them into use.

There are two parts to the question. In the first part the Minister was asked to list the buildings owned by the Department. The second part asked the Minister to list the buildings occupied by the Department but owned by the Office of Public Works. Will the Minister reply to the second part of the question?

I do not wish to be obstructive but the question asks the Minister to list the properties owned or leased by his Department and the properties occupied by the Department but owned by the Office of Public Works. I am not sure that the Minister has taken that into account in answering the question.

The only building covered by the question is the research centre at Abbotstown. Where is the Department located?

Is that owned by the Department or owned by the Office of Public Works and occupied by the Department?

Is there any other building owned by the Office of Public Works and occupied by the Department? The question asks for a simple list.

The Department of Fisheries and Forestry will be moving into a building in Lesson Lane as soon as it is completed.
