The main aid for the hard of hearing is the ampliphone which is a special telephone instrument with an amplifier and volume control.

Supplies of the existing model are exhausted. Tenders have been invited for a modern type ampliphone and it is expected that supplies will become available late this year or early next year.

The free rental will be applied in the next telephone account to issue and appropriate credits will be allowed for the period since the allowance was authorised.
