asked the Minister for Education if he proposes to introduce legislation covering the reorganisation of third level education; and, if so, when it is expected to introduce such legislation.

275.

asked the Minister for Education if he proposes to produce a white paper on the reorganisation of third level education; and, if so, when.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 274 and 275 together.

I assume that the Questions relate to the proposed legislation to dissolve the National University of Ireland and to establish its constituent colleges as independent universities. I am examining this matter at present and I propose to make an announcement in relation to it in due course.
