(Waterford) asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry, in view of the economic hardship suffered by the fishermen operating in the Suir estuary due to the late run of the salmon season, if he will consider extending the season by a month.

I am having the situation concerning the length of the salmon season for 1982 examined in my Department and I will make a decision on this matter shortly.
