‹ Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bord na gCon. Gombeen man remark about the west
Summary
Gallagher objected to Deputy Gay Mitchell’s alleged “gombeen man” remark about someone in the west, saying it reflected on the region; the Chair said he would communicate with him.
(Donegal South West): Has a decision been arrived at in relation to the matter which I asked to raise on the Adjournment, that is, the question of Deputy Gay Mitchell accusing someone in the west of being a gombeen man? That is a reflection on all the people in the west and it is important, because the term “gombeen man” has certain connotations.
