(Waterford) asked the Minister for the Public Service when he intends to lift the embargo on recruitment to the public service.

I assume the Deputy is referring to the decision taken last December by the previous Government to hold open certain vacancies pending consideration by the Government of the results of Departmental reviews affecting staffing. These reports are now to hand and are being considered by our Government at present.
