asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that the Agricultural Credit Corporation are about to acquire land from farmers who are in debt; and if he will arrange that the Land Commission acquire the lands and appoint the debtors as tenants.

The acquisition of land in the circumstances outlined in the question would not be a normal function of the Land Commission whose main aim is the structural improvement of uneconomic holdings.

Questions Nos. 392 and 393 postponed.
