asked the Minister for Agriculture the progress made in relation to the acquisition by the Land Commission of the McDonnell Estate, Dunboden, Mullingar, County Westmeath; if he is aware that the lands are being offered under the farm retirement scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An application for participation in the farmers' retirement scheme has been received from the owner of the estate and is being examined by the Land Commission. A decision is expected shortly.
