Galway reconstruction grant
Payment of the sewerage grant awaits notification of completed work and inspection; other grants were refused because work began before inspection or the facilities already existed.

On receipt of notification of completion of work an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the sewerage grant, if in order.
Grants in respect of the building of a bathroom and a bedroom could not be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. Neither could grants in respect of the provision of a water supply and the building of a chimney be allowed as the Department's inspector reported that these facilities were already in existence in the house.
