Seán Barrett Minister of State at the Department of Defence (Mr. Barrett Fine Gael

, Dún Laoghaire): It is proposed to continue to use Ballymullan Barracks for the training of personnel of An Fórsa Cosanta Áitiúil and for summer training camps for units of An Fórsa and of the Permanent Defence Force.

The cost of improvement and maintenance works carried out at the barracks over the past three years was £54,000 approximately. For security reasons it is the practice not to furnish information on the numbers of personnel at individual barracks or posts.
