Cavan decentralisation and economic hardship

Summary

Wilson criticised the halt to decentralisation and the budget’s effects on commerce in Cavan, asking the Minister to influence Government policy; the Minister noted that one question was separately tabled to another Minister.

: I asked the Minister for his view in regard to Government policy which has decided to stop a decentralisation programme in that area. The Government, in their budget, have practically killed commerce in the area. Would the Minister bring his views to bear on the Government so that those people will not be in the parlous situation they are in?

Comment on this

: The Deputy has asked several different questions, one of which already has been tabled by him to the Minister for the Public Service later today.
