Third-country fish imports

Summary

Gallagher questioned whether third-country imports under the Common Fisheries Policy leave Irish fishermen adequately protected. The Minister said this was a different question and invited him to submit it separately.

: Is the Minister happy that third country imports are permitted into the EEC, as a result of the Common Fisheries Policy and have the Government given adequate protection to the Irish fishermen in ensuring that they can compete with the third countries?

Comment on this

: That is a different question.

Comment on this

: It may appear to the Minister to be a different question but I think that is the kernel of the producer organisations in relation to the Common Fisheries Policy and imports from third countries are being allowed——
