asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a person (details supplied) in County Dublin who paid for the installation of a telephone last January will have service provided.

When the person named was invited to sign an agreement and make advance payment it was expected that telephone service would be provided within about three months.

Regrettably this was not possible because of an unforeseen difficulty which arose at the local exchange.

It is expected that service will be provided within about a month.

It had been planned to provide a kiosk at Kentstown. However, the programme for the provision of rural kiosks is under review at present in the light of the financial position generally and it is not possible at this stage to say when a kiosk may be provided at the location in question.
