Social Welfare appointments to State boards
Treacy sought the names, occupations and remuneration of Government appointees to boards and agencies under the Minister’s aegis since January 1983. O’Brien said no appointments of the kind specified had been made, but declined to answer Treacy’s broader question about the Minister’s own appointments; the Chair clarified the wording before moving to the next question.
asked the Minister for Social Welfare the names of all people appointed by the Government to State and semi-State boards and to other agencies and organisations under his aegis since 1 Janaury 1983; their ordinary occupation; and the remuneration which they will receive from their appointments.

A direct question: has the Minister for Social Welfare appointed any people to any Department, board or agency——

I cannot understand the answer the Minister has given because I presume the Minister for Social Welfare is a member of the Government.
