Buncrana Nursing Unit Opening
The unit was completed in July 1982, and the Health Board is arranging a phased opening this year; the Minister will provide an equipment grant in addition to the £925,000 already allocated for construction.
asked the Minister for Health if he will make a statement on the Buncrana nursing unit, County Donegal; and the financial assistance he proposes to make available to enable the nursing home to open at an early date.

A new community nursing unit was completed at Buncrana in July 1982. The North Western Health Board are currently making arrangements to reallocate resources in order to open the unit on a phased basis this year.
I have already made capital funds of some £925,000 available to build this unit and I will be making a further grant to the board to meet the cost of equipping the unit.
