Dún Laoghaire): The 1979 Census of Industrial Production is the most recent for which detailed final results are available. According to the results of that census, there were 341 persons engaged in the fish processing industry in County Donegal in September 1979. Indications from the short-term inquiries are that employment in September 1983 was approximately at the same level.
