asked the Minister for Agriculture if he has been press release 5227/84 Brussels, 27-28 February 1984 from Mr. Michael Rocard, Minister for Agriculture, French Republic on behalf of EEC with reference to certain disadvantaged areas; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The EEC press release referred to relates to the meeting of the Council of Agricultural Ministers on 27-28 February, which approved amendments to the Community lists of less favoured areas in certain member states. It has no implications whatsoever in regard to an extension of the disadvantaged areas in this country.
