EEC trade agreement negotiations
The Minister said the EEC was negotiating renewal of the Lomé II agreement with ACP countries, with no significant impact expected on Irish trade or industry.
asked the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism the trade agreements that are currently being negotiated between the EEC and other countries; and if he will give an estimate of the effects of such agreements on Irish trade and industry.

There is only one such case. Negotiations are in progress between the EEC and African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries for renewal of the existing Agreement (Lome II) which will expire in February 1985. As less than 2 per cent of our total international trade is involved it is not anticipated that renewal of the agreement will have any significant effect on Irish trade and industry.
