FCA strength and recruitment
The questions sought FCA personnel and recruitment figures, including plans for 1984. The Minister reported an effective strength of 16,361 at the end of 1983 and said recruitment would replace wastage; detailed figures were to be circulated.

The effective strength of An Fórsa Cosanta Áitiúil on 31 December 1983 was 16,361. Recruitment will be permitted in 1984 to the extent necessary to replace wastage during that year.
