Serviced refuse dumping sites

Summary

The Minister said county-by-county information on dumping sites and their expected lifespans was not available; local authorities were preparing waste plans expected to be adopted mostly by year-end.

asked the Minister for the Environment to list county by county, the available serviced sites for refuse dumping; the anticipated life of each site; and the plans for each local authority to replace these sites when full.

Comment on this

The information sought by the Deputy is not at present available in my Department. General waste plans, which will include details of disposal sites, are being prepared by the relevant local authorities and will, it is expected, be adopted in most cases by the end of this year.
