British firm supplying goods free

Summary

Leonard sought to raise concerns about a British firm supplying goods cheaply and for free, after his Private Notice Question was ruled non-urgent. The Chair would not discuss the ruling in the House and said he would communicate with Leonard about an Adjournment request.

I had a Private Notice Question which you, Sir, disallowed on the grounds that it was not a matter of urgency.

I cannot allow a speech on it and I cannot, I regret, allow my ruling to be questioned in the House. I conveyed to Deputy Leonard through my private secretary that the question did not meet the requirements of urgency laid down in Standing Orders. I cannot go further than that.
