asked the Minister for Health whether he proposes to make provision at an early date for the enforcement of a minimum staff-patient ratio in private nursing homes.

I am currently revising the regulations governing the operation of private nursing homes. I intend to include a provision relating to the staffing of these homes in the revised regulations and I will take the question of a minimum staff-patient ratio raised by the Deputy into account in relation to this provision.
