Dún Laoghaire): I propose to circulate a statement giving the information requested by the Deputy. Following is the statement:
1. Exports of cattle hides
2. The estimated numbers of cattle hides cured and sold as such, by the tanning industry in the years 1982, 1983 and 1984 (January-September) were as follows: 1982, 703, 200; 1983, 744, 400; 1984 Jan-Sept, 517, 600. Information on value is not available. These estimates exclude (a) hides cured and further processed into leather by the same firm and (b) hides cured by establishments not in the tanning industry.
