European Investment Bank loans

Summary

The Deputy asked how much the EIB had lent to Ireland since 1980 and how the loans were used. The Minister said he would circulate a table breaking down loans by sector since 1973.

asked the Minister for Finance the amount provided in loans by the European Investment Bank of Ireland since 1980; and the way in which these loans have been utilised.

Comment on this

I propose to circulate a tabular statement providing the information requested by the Deputy. For the sake of completeness and because these statistics are requested by Deputies from time to time, the table provides a sectoral breakdown of the loans provided since our accession to the European Communities in 1973 by the European Investment Bank either from its own resources or from the resources of the New Community Instrument for Borrowing and Lending (NCI).
