Summary

Mitchell questioned why banks should not pay for Garda escorts when other organisations are charged; the Minister said the Government had decided not to charge them. Allen asked whether banks had proposed providing their own armed escorts, and the Minister was unaware of any such approach.

Comment on this

(Limerick East): This matter has been considered and the decision taken by the Government was not to impose such a charge, principally for the reason I have already given but also for other reasons

Comment on this

Comment on this
