asked the Minister for Defence the total number of personnel involved in the Army Equitation School; the number of Army personnel involved with equestrian training; the amount of money allocated to the school in 1885; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There are 62 personnel on the strength of the Army School of Equitation at present of whom 52 are involved in the training, riding and care of horses.

A sum of £380,000 is included in the Defence Vote 1985 in respect of equitation activities, excluding, pay and allowances of personnel.
