asked the Minister for Communications the areas serviced by cable television systems and if he has any proposals for other areas.

Following is the statement:
Cable Television Licences
A licence for Donegal Town will shortly be issued to Mr. Eunan Curristown, T/A Contact Electrical, Quay Street, Donegal.
Letters of Intent to grant television licences, subject to the fulfilment of certain conditions, have issued in respect of the following areas:
Competitions for cable television licences are in progress in respect of the following areas:
Dunboyne
Tullow
No further competitions are planned at present.

The Chair does not like to have to rule against Deputies. The Chair does not wish rancour with Deputies but I have taken a strong view on this and I will continue to rule in this way, unless I am overruled by the House.

I would not like to do that but if carrying out the rules frustrates you, you cannot blame me. I do not wish to appear to be smart, but I have made a ruling and I am standing by that ruling. I am ruling the Deputy's question out.
