asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware of the inadequate accomodation available at Basin Street, Naas, for the Kildare motor taxation office; and if he will arrange to improve the unacceptable conditions for the staff and particularly for citizens now forced to queue outside in all weathers.

I am so aware. On 5 February 1986 my Department received formal proposals from Kildare County Council for approval to transfer the motor taxation office to alternative premises. The proposals are being considered as a matter of urgency and a decision will be conveyed to the local authority as soon as possible.
