asked the Minister for the Environment when he will announce approval for the funding of the Muine Bheag water supply scheme; if he is aware that the contractors are appointed to carry out this work and are awaiting the go ahead.

My Department have requested Carlow County Council to submit further documentation regarding the proposal for the acceptance of a tender for the Muine Bheag water supply improvement scheme. On receipt of this documentation I hope to be in a position to convey an early decision on the proposal to the local authority.
