Grants to regional game councils

Summary

The Minister said no grants had gone to regional game councils since 1982; the national association received £10,000 in 1984 and 1985, but no grant is provided for 1986.

asked the Minister for Fisheries, Forestry and Tourism the increase in grant-in-aid to the regional game councils over the last three years; and if he will increase the amount this year.

Comment on this

No grants have been paid by my Department to regional game councils since 1982. A grant of £10,000 was paid to the National Association of Regional Game Councils in each of the years 1984 and 1985. There is no provision in the Revised Estimates of Public Expenditure for 1986 for the payment of a similar grant this year and the association have been informed accordingly.
