Clare redundancy entitlement

Summary

The case was withdrawn after the parties settled; a departmental investigation found the person was not entitled to redundancy payment, with details to follow.

asked the Minister for Labour if he is aware that the Employment Appeals Tribunal finding in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Clare which was heard in August 1984 has not yet been implemented; the proposals he has in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Comment on this

I understand that the case in questions was down for hearing by the Employment Appeals Tribunal on 1 August 1984 but was withdrawn following a settlement between the parties concerned.

In the circumstances, I have had the redundancy entitlement of the person concerned investigated by my Department. This investigation showed that the person in question does not qualify for such entitlement. I will furnish the details to the Deputy at an early date.
