Funding for Cerebral Palsy Games
The Minister awarded Cerebral Palsy Sport Ireland a £1,000 grant towards the team’s costs for travelling to the Games in Belgium.
asked the Minister for Education the reasons no financial support was made available to physically handicapped young people travelling to Belgium for the International Cerebral Palsy Games in July; if he will reconsider the question of making financial support available; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An application for financial assistance towards the cost of attending the International Cerebral Palsy Games to be held in Belgium from 4 to 10 July 1986 was received from Cerebral Palsy Sport Ireland on Wednesday 25 June 1986. I have awarded a grant of £1,000 to the Cerebral Palsy team to help defray the costs involved in their participation at this event. My Department will be in touch with the Cerebral Palsy Sport Ireland in this connection in the next few days.
