asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make an allocation to Kildare County Council to enable local improvement schemes to operate again in Kildare.

Since January 1984, the local improvements scheme has been applied to farm road projects eligible for EC aid under the western package. I do not propose to change this arrangement. The 1986 Exchequer provision of £2.15 million for the scheme has been fully allocated.
