Health Department statutory and advisory bodies
Brennan asked about the Department’s statutory and advisory bodies and ministerial appointees; Desmond answered the related questions together and listed the bodies. Of 511 statutory-body members, 39 were ministerial appointees, including one living abroad; the 38 resident in Ireland were in Dublin (31), Cork (5), Louth (1) and Laois (1). Advisory bodies had 254 members, six ministerial appointees and none abroad; they lived in Dublin (2), Cork (2), Sligo (1) and Leitrim (1).

There are 39 statutory bodies under the aegis of my Department of which nine are advisory bodies. There are no non-statutory advisory bodies under the aegis of my Department.
