Details of expenditure on the maintenance and improvement of the public roads for each classification in Waterford city and county in each of the years 1980-1985 are set out in the following tables:

(a) Waterford City

(b) Waterford County

These figures represent the value of the works which the authorities executed in the year referred to.

asked the Minister for the Environment the total amount of (a) private and (b) commercial vehicles registered in each county at the end of each of the past 20 years.

The total numbers of private and goods vehicles licensed in each of the past 20 years are set out in the following tabular statement. The numbers shown in respect of the years 1966 to 1969 are the numbers of vehicles under current licence on 10 August in those years while those for 1970 onwards relate to vehicles under current licence on 30 September.

A breakdown, on a county basis, is in course of preparation and will be sent to the Deputy shortly.
