Documentation which has been outstanding was received in this case on 10 November 1986. The grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been completed and occupied and that all the conditions of the grant scheme have been fulfilled. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a £5,000 house surrender grant to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; when this money will be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Comment on this
The processing of applications for the £5,000 grant is a matter for the relevant local authority up to the stage of certification for payment. A certificate confirming that the applicant has complied with the conditions of the scheme was received recently in the Department and the grant will be paid within a few weeks.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a £2,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Louth; and when this grant will be paid.
Comment on this
An inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks with a view to payment of the grant. The delay which has arisen in carrying out the inspection is attributable to the high numbers of applications for both new house and improvement grants at present on hands.
