Living alone allowance for older recipients

Summary

Mitchell challenges the proposed removal of the living alone allowance for recipients over 45 receiving £36 a week. Woods suggests raising the issue during consideration of the Bill, and Mitchell says the Minister is unconcerned about poor people.

If that is the case why is the Minister proposing to delete the provision in the Social Welfare Bill of the living alone allowance for those over 45 years of age in receipt of £36 per week?
