TB testing rounds in 1985

Summary

Farrelly asked how many testing rounds were completed in 1985; the Minister said the total equalled one round, with some herds tested more than once and others not at all. The Chair ruled that Farrelly’s follow-up was not a question.

For the benefit of the Deputies in the House, would the Minister confirm that in 1985 there were one and a third rounds of TB testing done in the national herd?

Joe Walsh Mr. J. Walsh Fianna Fáil

In reply to a previous question I gave the percentage herd and percentage of animals tested in 1985 and, while there was the equivalent of one round, some herds were tested more than once and other herds were not tested even once.

So it would not be untrue to state that some herds were not tested since 1983, four years ago.

That is not a question.
