asked the Minister for Energy the proportion of electrical energy generated in the State in percentage terms by (a) oil (b) imported coal (c) turf (d) hydro-electrical plants and (e) natural gas, for the years 1979 and 1986.

The information requested by the Deputy is in the form of a tabular statement which I propose to circulate in the Official Report. The figures given relate to the financial year 1979-80 and the nine months to 31 December 1986.
