Tax receipts and net salary-increase cost

Summary

Bruton asked whether the £260,000 estimate included tax receipts from the affected employees. MacSharry said it did not and agreed the net cost would be much lower.

John Bruton Mr. J. Bruton Fine Gael

Can I take it that the figure of £260,000 given by the Minister does not take account of the additional tax that would be received, probably at 58p in the £, from the people concerned?

Comment on this

No, it does not.
