Long-distance walking routes through forests

The Minister said the Forest Service works with Cospoir’s walking routes committee and co-operates where proposed routes cross State forest land.

asked the Minister for Energy if he will outline his plans to develop and promote long distance walking routes through forest lands; and if he will indicate the way in which these routes will inter-link with walking routes and rights of way which traverse nonforest lands.

The Forest Service of my Department are represented on the long distance walking routes committee of Cospoir. This committee are responsible for the planning and development of long distance walks and my Department co-operates fully with it where such routes traverse State forest land.
